Spectacular landscapes: Bariloche is surrounded by mountains, lakes, and forests. Bike tours offer stunning views of the Andes Mountains, especially on routes like the Seven Lakes Road.

Ideal summer weather: During January and February, Bariloche’s weather is warm and dry, perfect for outdoor activities. The days are long, allowing for more daylight hours for cycling.

Variety of Routes: There are multiple circuits and trails of varying difficulty levels, allowing both beginners and experienced cyclists to enjoy the activity. There are a variety of paved and gravel routes.

Challenging Terrain: The geographical diversity is wonderful. The mountainous area, with its green forests and large lakes, and the Patagonian steppe, with its impressive landscapes and low, yellowish vegetation.

BIKETOURING ROUTES

BARILOCHE IS THE STARTING POINT FOR SEVERAL FAMOUS BICYCLE TOURING ROUTES

7 Lakes Route: 200 kilometers long. It begins in Bariloche and ends in San Martin de los Andes. The trip takes between 4 and 5 days.

Carretera Austral: You can start in Bariloche (ARG). The route crosses the Andes and runs for 1,500 kilometers to O’Higgins (CH). From there, you can cross to El Chaltén (ARG) to finish the trip.

Patagonia Beer trail: A bikepacking trip that runs through the Patagonian steppe and the Andean Cordillera. It passes through Bariloche, San Martin de los Andes, and El Bolsón.

In the spring of 2019, we received our first Halawa brand bikepacking equipment. So we decided to go out and try them out and explore the Andean Trail. We took a four-day trip from Bariloche to El Bolsón, following this network of singletracks of considerable difficulty.

Three friends ride the wonderful Seven Lakes Road in summer. A 5-day trip with a tent, stopping at the most beautiful campsites in Patagonia. The total trip is 200 km. Departing from Bariloche and ending in San Martin de los Andes.
